How do I know if I need a repair or a replacement?

There are 3 criteria we assess in order to repair a windshield:

  1. Size – Is the chip larger than a quarter if it is a “star” chip; or is it longer than a dollar bill if it is a line crack? If yes, replacement is required.
  2. Does the crack go off of the edge of the glass? If yes, replacement is required.
  3. Is the damage located in the vital area directly in front of the driver’s line of vision? If yes, we can still repair the chip for you, but we need to make you aware that your vehicle might not pass inspection if it is felt that the damage obstructs the driver’s vision.


What type of payments do you accept?

Cash, checks and all major credit cards.


Do you mobile out to customers to replace automotive glass?

Yes, we mobile out to your home or work location do replace windshields, door, vent, quarter or back glass on your vehicle. We also mobile out to do chip repairs.


Do you accept insurance

Yes, we work with all insurance companies. Liberty AutoGlass is a preferred provider for all personal policy insurance claims. Just request Liberty AutoGlass to do your job when calling in a claim.


Do you offer a warranty with a windshield replacement?

Yes, the installation is covered for as long as you own your vehicle. The only thing we don’t cover is if something else were to hit your windshield and cause damage.


Does my insurance cover the cost of a replacement?

The answer to this question depends on the coverage you have set up on your policy for Comprehensive coverage. You are responsible for your deductible, so if you have a $0.00 deductible the total cost of your windshield would be covered.


Do I call the insurance claim in myself

You can either call us and we can conference the call in together and take care of everything in one phone call (questions, insurance information, vehicle information, scheduling, etc.) or you can call the claim in yourself. When you call the claim center, request Liberty AutoGlass. The claim center will FAX us your paperwork at which time we will contact you to schedule your appointment and ask any questions we may have if the claim center does not contact us.


Will my insurance rates increase if I file a claim to have my windshield replaced or repaired?

We have talked to hundreds of insurance agents and they have all told us that if it is glass damage only – no, rates are not increased.


How long does it take for a windshield replacement?

Plan on 2 hours from the start of the replacement that the car will be unusable.


Will I still be able to see the chip / crack in my windshield once it is repaired?

Yes, most of the time. The damage in the glass is filled with a resin. The resin, even though it is clear, looks slightly different than the glass. Chips in the glass often appear as bug splotches.


What is your warranty on a chip repair?

If the chip cracks out, we will take the price of the chip repair off of the price of a replacement if you paid cash.

Are all glass shops the same?

No. The days of pushing the windshield out with your feet are over. The windshield is now made to be part of the structural integrity of your vehicle. It can also come with a variety of attachments that could include cameras, sensors and heat just to name a few of the different features available. If your windshield is installed improperly, the safety of your vehicle could be compromised, not to mention body damage from rust that would not be noticeable until some time after the replacement. A reputable glass company will stand behind their installation.


Do I have to go to the glass shop that the claim center dictates or recommends?

No, according to PA law you can choose the glass shop of your choice.


How does weather factor in when replacing a windshield?

A glass installation involving urethane (glue) cannot be properly installed if it is raining or snowing. Also, the temperature should be about 20 degrees F if done outside.


Are there any restrictions after my windshield is replaced?

Wait until it is safe to drive the car; the installer should inform you of this time according to the urethane that was used to install your windshield. Wait 24 hours before running it through and automatic car wash.


Do you have any discounts /offers available?

Currently a $20 in-shop discount (If you bring your vehicle to us). AAA discount – 10% or up to $25 (not to be combined with any other discount).


Where is Liberty AutoGlass located?

We are physically located at 509 North First St., Lehighton, PA. We provide a mobile service that includes several counties.


Do I need an appointment to get my glass repaired?

Yes. Because repairs and replacements can be time consuming, we would like to set you up with an appointment so we are not wasting your time. But you are welcome to stop by any time to ask questions or set up your appointment.


Are there any additional fees that are not mentioned in your quote?

No, the full price, including tax, is included in our free quote – so there are no surprises.
