Frequently Asked Questions

Q: By what means do I find out if auto glass damage might be corrected?
This hinges on the type of crack or chip. The most effective choice is to phone us and we will look at the chip or crack. We'll let you know if it is a repair that can be made or if you are encountering a windshield replacement. On either occasion, we'll work with you and your insurance provider.

Q: What is the difference between OEM and OEE auto glass? Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) auto glass is made by the same manufacturer as your original glass. Original Equipment Equivalent (OEE) automobile glass is manufactured to the same standards, but by a different company. Our customers can choose either.

Q: How long will my vehicle glass repair or replacement take?
In many cases, windshield repairs may be performed in 30 minutes or less. Windshield installations will often take an hour or less; however, we strongly recommend that you do not drive the motor vehicle for at least one hour after the service is completed.

Q: How long will it be before I can confidently drive my car?
You can usually drive one hour after a windshield replacement, or straight away after a fix or side window installation. Our repair professionals use the best materials, including the industry's first adhesive with a one-hour drive-away time for windshield installations. The technician will advise you if any more time is needed.

Q: Does my vehicle need to be in an enclosed or heated area?
Severe weather makes auto glass installs complicated without cover. If possible, please have shelter available.

Q: Can you guarantee that the chip or crack will be unnoticeable after the repair has been finalized?
No. A windshield chip or crack fix is used to avoid further damage to your windshield auto glass and to bring back the structural integrity of the vehicle. While each incident of damage is unique, with most successful repairs, a slight mark or imperfection where the impact occurred is commonplace. In most cases, you should expect the cosmetic appearance of the repair to be an improvement as compared to the damage before the service.

Q: How soon can you see me?
In many circumstances, we can get you booked for same or next day service. Simply ask for an appointment or call us. We'll get you repaired as quickly as possible.

Q: How will the windshield look after repair?
Your rock chip should become noticeably clearer when mended. But, clarity is dependent upon the size, age, the amount of glass missing from the center, and the quantity of fragmented glass inside the break. Whenever looking through the windshield, optics will not suffer.

Q: Will you replace the sticker labels that are currently on my windshield?
Whenever possible, our trained technicians will take excellent care to remove any stickers or items that are affixed to your old auto glass and will switch them over to your new windshield to make sure that you will not lose the information.

Q: What kind of parts do you use for your glass services?
We use the best quality glass, molding, urethanes, and other replacement materials to maintain and reinforce the safety functions of your windshield.

Q: Are your technicians certified?
Each one of our repair professionals is factory educated by SIKA Corporation. SIKA is a thought leader with regards to the Auto Glass Replacement (AGR) direct glazing industry. All SIKA Auto Glass adhesive systems have been crash-tested and go beyond rigorous Federal safety standards (FMVSS 212/208). SIKA Training makes sure that the proper application of the entire SIKA Adhesive System, which is crucial to the safe installation of the new glass in your vehicle.

Q: Does my windshield really protect me?
If your windshield is installed properly it sure does! Auto manufacturers say your windshield supplies up to 50% of the roof crush protection in a rollover collision. It also provides the backstop support for your passenger-side airbag in a front end collision. Your windshield is also designed to be one of the main safety restraint systems in your automobile. If your windshield were to pop out in a collision or rollover and you did not have your seat belt on or it were to fail you could be ejected from your vehicle.

Q: How quickly can I wash my car after my windshield is changed out?
You can hand wash your vehicle just as long as you keep high-pressure sprays of water well away from the windshield and moldings. Water or rain on the new windshield installation isn't a problem in any way, in reality, the moisture actually helps the curing process of the urethane adhesive sealant. You should wait a minimum of 24 hours before washing your vehicle in a high-pressure type of car or truck wash. A high-pressure automatic car wash can ruin the new windshield seal and outer moldings before the urethane adhesive used in the new windshield installation have an opportunity to sufficiently cure. It's also crucial to leave at least one of the windows open about 2 inches to reduce the pressurization in the vehicle when the doors are shut and when the heat or cooling is operated within the first 24 hours. Having a window a little bit open prevents the pressure build-up from ambient heat on a hot day and the pressure the heater or a/c unit develops inside the vehicle's cabin from pushing a hole through the new uncured urethane seal, triggering an air or water leak.

Q: Is there a difference between my windshield and the other glass in the car?
Yes, there is. Windshield glass is laminated safety glass, designed to react differently in an auto accident, where the sides and rear are often tempered glass.

Q: What will the auto glass shop most likely ask me when I call?
We need to know who your insurance company is and the year, make, and model of your vehicle, the type of damage you have, and when and where you need the work performed.

Kelayres is located in the Kline Township in Schuylkill County. It can be considered a small community that, like many other communities from this area, was established during the coal industry. There was a parade that the Democrats were marching in and they were shot at by multiple shooters. Local Republican Joseph James Bruno was arrested along with 6 members of his family. He later escaped from prison which led to the greatest man hunt that has ever happened in PA history. He was eventually found about 8 months later.
